Consider these questions when choosing to be a single parent:

If I cannot afford housing, where can I stay with my baby?

Pregnancy & Family Resource Center can help you explore housing options before your baby is born. You'll need to consider job opportunities and childcare to help pay for housing. You may want to think about:

• Living with a friend or relative
• Staying in a maternity home
• Living with your parents or the birthfather's parents
• Subsidized housing

Can anyone help me with baby items, maternity clothes, etc.?

Pregnancy & Family Resource Center will help! We have many material resources available. We can provide assistance with maternity clothes, baby layettes, and clothing for children (newborn-2T.) Refer to Our Services for a complete list of all the help available.

Can I still choose adoption later if parenting doesn't work out?

If single parenting becomes too difficult and you decide to consider adoption, making an adoption plan is still an option. It is a courageous decision to realize that by yourself you cannot provide all that your child needs. Pregnancy & Family Resource Center can connect you with an adoption agency that can help you.

Will I be a good parent?

Parenting can be a joy and a struggle at any age no matter what the circumstances. Pregnancy & Family Resource Center offers a Parent Education Program that covers a wide variety of issues having to do with pregnancy and parenting. We want you to become the best parent possible.
